1. Guardian product consumers , This communication serves as confirmation of Guardian’s stance on the lifespan from the date of manufacture , regardless of use , for Guardian and Checkmate branded products manufactured and sold in the UK and European market . Fall protection products/components manufactured from textile components are subject to a maximum lifespan of 10 years for product manufacture d on or after January 1, 2019 provided that the use, storage, maintenance and inspection conditions are met as defined in the user information manual. This statement also applies retrospectively for all Guardian and Checkmate products sold/purchased in the UK and European market . Note: the maximum specified lifespan does not guarantee the useable life of the product as lifespan can also vary depending on intensity and frequency of use, as well as how the equipment is maintained and stored. To ensure products are in good condition a nd safe for use, equipment must be subjected to pre - use inspection before each use and regular recorded thorough inspection conducted by a competent person other than the user in accordance with the user information manual and any applicable local legislat ion. If a product fails inspection at any time, it must be immediately removed from service and either disposed of or returned to the manufacturer/manufacturer approved aged for repair (if applicable) For any additional information, please feel free to contact your designated Guardian representative.
